A Linear Look at XTC's Albums ]
I love music. I collect music. I love music so much
that I collect too much of it, spending any spare cash on and devoting
any spare space to my ever-growing collection. XTC is one of the
few bands of which I am an extremely avid collector and, although
I've only been seriously collecting their albums for the past 2
years, I've gathered quite a bit.
I am an avid collector of music on vinyl. At last
count, my husband and I had over 12 feet worth of records. (We stopped
counting the records individually a couple of years ago.) That was
over 6 months ago, so I'm sure we have more by now.
One of the reasons that I love vinyl (other that
the beautiful sound quality of virgin vinyl), is the packaging.
If the packaging on CDs was half as cool as the packaging on some
of my vinyl, I'd be gung-ho for them too. XTC has some of the coolest
packaging on their 7" releases. For instance, "No Thugs
in Our House" has a paper that's printed with characters from
the song that you can cut out and use on the "stage" that
is the record sleeve. (I'll have to post a photo of this soon.)
Vinyl
I won't bore you with more talk about my obsession
with audio-vinyl... Here's a chart with the XTC releases that I
own on vinyl. They are listed alphabetically by format.
Click on a linked title to see an image of that
item. I don't have photos of all items yet, but I'm working on it.
