Cat Bus / NekoBasu
(Totoro Transportation)
Cat Bus is the transportation of choice for O Totoro. NekoBasu's
got glowing eyes for headlights, rats for tail lights and furry
seats that change size according to the passenger.
Setsuki and Mei first see Cat Bus when they're waiting in the
rain at the bus stop with O Totoro. Later, O Totoro calls to Cat
Buss to help Setsuki find Mei when she's lost. Cat Bus then takes
the girls to see their mother.
The Cat Bus is probably my favorite character in Totoro.
I guess this shouldn't be too surprising, considering that I love
cats and am a huge fan of the Cheshire Cat from Alice in Wonderland.
I don't know anyone who has seen this movie and not gotten a huge
kick out of this character.
